Care Instructions – Keep Your Aayat Studio Pieces Beautiful

Your handcrafted embroidery suit or designer ethnic wear from Aayat Studio is a labour of love. With the right care, your pieces will remain vibrant, beautiful, and long-lasting for years to come. Please follow these care instructions to preserve the quality of your garment.

General Care Guidelines

  • Always read the care label attached to your garment before washing
  • Wash dark and light coloured garments separately to prevent colour bleeding
  • Turn the garment inside out before washing to protect the embroidery
  • Avoid soaking embroidered garments for extended periods
  • Do not wring or twist the fabric — gently squeeze out excess water

Washing Instructions

Machine Wash

Our premium cotton ethnic suits are machine washable. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Use a gentle / delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water (max 30°C)
  • Use a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics
  • Place the garment in a mesh laundry bag to protect the embroidery during the wash cycle
  • Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals

Hand Wash

For best results, especially for heavily embroidered pieces, we recommend hand washing:

  • Use cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent
  • Gently agitate the fabric — do not scrub the embroidery directly
  • Rinse thoroughly until all detergent is removed
  • Gently press out excess water without wringing

Drying Instructions

  • Air dry in shade — avoid direct sunlight as it can fade colours and weaken embroidery threads
  • Lay flat to dry or hang on a padded hanger to maintain the shape
  • Do not tumble dry embroidered garments

Ironing & Steaming

  • Iron on the reverse side of the garment to protect the embroidery
  • Use a low to medium heat setting suitable for cotton
  • Place a thin cloth or pressing cloth between the iron and the embroidery
  • Alternatively, use a garment steamer for a gentle, safe option
  • Never iron directly over embroidery, sequins, or embellishments

Storage Tips

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Fold neatly or hang on padded hangers to avoid creasing
  • Use muslin or cotton garment bags for long-term storage — avoid plastic bags which can trap moisture
  • Keep away from sharp objects that could snag the embroidery threads
